چکیده

In this paper we introduce a logic for graph, where the domain is the edges, not the vertices. Such logic behaves differently from the usual graph logic, where the domain is the vertices, because reachability can be expressed in monadic NP in this logic, while it cannot in the standard graph logic. We establish that in this logic to express a path of length 2k or less, quantifier rank k is necessary and sufficient. The proof is non standard in the sense that we use pebble automata over infinite alphabet, rather than the standard Ehrenfeucht-Fräıssé game. Notation. Let u and v be two vertices. and e be an edge from u to v. We say that the head of e is the vertex v, while the tail of e is the vertex u. 1 On graphs with the edges as the domain In this section we are going to apply our results in the previous sections in finite model theory. We will need a different kind of vocabulary for logic for graphs. Let τ = {S, T, HeadHead, HeadTail, TailTail} be a vocabulary on directed graph structures whose domains are the edges, not the vertices. The symbols S, T are both unary predicates, whereas HeadHead, HeadTail, TailTail are binary predicates. The intentions of each predicate are as follows. 1 T ec hn io n C om pu te r Sc ie nc e D ep ar tm en t T eh ni ca l R ep or t C S20 09 -0 4 20 09 • S(e) means that the head of the edge e is a special source vertex. • T (e) means that the tail of the edge e is a special target vertex. • TailTail(e1, e2) means that the tails of e1 and e2 are the same. • HeadHead(e1, e2) means that the heads of e1 and e2 are the same. • HeadTail(e1, e2) means that the head of e1 is the tail of e2. Data mining, also known as knowledge discovery in database, is the process to discover unknown knowledge from a large amount of data. Text mining is to apply data mining techniques to extract knowledge from unstructured text. Text clustering is one of important techniques of text mining, which is the unsupervised classification of similar documents into different groups. The most important step...

Topology Control in Wireless Sensor Network using Fuzzy Logic

Network sensors consist of sensor nodes in which every node covers a limited area. The most common use ofthese networks is in unreachable fields.Sink is a node that collects data from other nodes. One of the main challenges in these networks is the limitation of nodes battery (power supply). Therefore, the use oftopology control is required to decrease power consumption and increase network acce...

Line completion number of grid graph Pn × Pm

The concept of super line graph was introduced in the year 1995 by Bagga, Beineke and Varma. Given a graph with at least r edges, the super line graph of index r, Lr(G), has as its vertices the sets of r-edges of G, with two adjacent if there is an edge in one set adjacent to an edge in the other set. The line completion number lc(G) of a graph G is the least positive integer r for which Lr(G) ...

Eternal m- Security Subdivision Numbers in Graphs

Let  be a simple graph with vertex set  and edges set . A set  is a dominating set if every vertex in  is adjacent to at least one vertex  in . An eternal 1-secure set of a graph G is defined as a dominating set  such that for any positive integer k and any sequence  of vertices, there exists a sequence of guards   with  and either  or  and  is a dominating set. If we take a guard on every ver...

Chromaticity of Turan Graphs with At Most Three Edges Deleted

Let $P(G,lambda)$ be the chromatic polynomial of a graph $G$. A graph $G$ ischromatically unique if for any graph $H$, $P(H, lambda) = P(G,lambda)$ implies $H$ is isomorphic to $G$. In this paper, we determine the chromaticity of all Tur'{a}n graphs with at most three edges deleted. As a by product, we found many families of chromatically unique graphs and chromatic equivalence classes of graph...

A Novel Approach for Detecting Relationships in Social Networks Using Cellular Automata Based Graph Coloring

All the social networks can be modeled as a graph, where each roles as vertex and each relationroles as an edge. The graph can be show as G = [V;E], where V is the set of vertices and E is theset of edges. All social networks can be segmented to K groups, where there are members in eachgroup with same features. In each group each person knows other individuals and is in touch ...
